Short answer: the Tribit Maxsound Plus for flatter response; the Roam 2 for portability. Switching the Tribit into Xbass mode gets the flattest frequency response, and all three versions sound exactly the same, though its bass is slightly less deep than the best in the category. The Roam 2 is very neutral with a dedicated pairing button, but it is not stereo and distorts when you turn up the bass.
Buy the Sonos Roam 2 new; the Tribit Maxsound Plus is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.
