The Sonos Move 2 is the better-sounding, longer-running option. Warm sounding with somewhat rolled off treble. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 15 for the JBL Xtreme. The tradeoff: Not very loud.
The JBL Xtreme is the lighter option. 15 hour battery. At 5.3 lbs (2.4 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Sonos Move 2 at 6.6 lbs (3 kg). It links with other speakers (Connect), which the Sonos Move 2 cannot. Watch for: Issues with bass distortion at high volumes.
Buy the Sonos Move 2. It is rated higher for sound quality; the JBL Xtreme is no longer sold new.
