What the Perlisten A3m does well: A sealed high output monitor with dual 8 inch woofers and a waveguide tweeter, a great match for a subwoofer in a home theater. The tradeoff: The low-quality vendor Spinorama data measures only 85.8Hz at -3dB, 74.1Hz at -6dB, and 55.7Hz at -12dB, conflicting with Perlisten’s much deeper in-room extension claim.
The Aalto Speakers Aalto 3 Passive is the more accurate, deeper-bass pick. A passive bookshelf speaker for buyers with their own amp, close to neutral sound, and well controlled bass from passive radiators. Its measured preference score, a predictor of how neutral it sounds, is 6.82 against 4.30 for the Perlisten A3m. Its bass reaches about 56.6Hz before falling 3dB, against 85.8Hz for the Perlisten A3m. The catch: Requires an external amplifier (50-250W recommended) that the Active Pro doesn’t, and shares the same review gap: no independent editorial coverage found, only manufacturer-supplied specs, with factory-direct-only sales from Finland.
Buy the Perlisten A3m or the Aalto Speakers Aalto 3 Passive on features: they are rated the same for sound quality at close to the same price.
