The Minirig 4 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass pick. Modular, can easily attach a subwoofer. Its bass reaches about 56Hz before falling 10dB, against 85Hz for the Tribit Stormbox Mini. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 12 for the Tribit Stormbox Mini. At 1.2 lbs (550 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Tribit Stormbox Mini at 1.6 lbs (708 g). The tradeoff: Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating.
The Tribit Stormbox Mini is the tougher pick. IPX7 waterproof, excellent battery life (12 hours), RGB LED lighting, app support with AAC codec, true wireless stereo (TWS) capability, USB-C charging. It is rated IPX7 against Splash resistant for the Minirig 4. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Minirig 4. The tradeoff: Lacking quite a bit of bass.
Buy the Minirig 4. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Tribit Stormbox Mini is discontinued, so it is only available used.

Newer model: the Tribit Stormbox Mini+, ranked higher, rated 2.5/5.
Pros: IPX7 waterproof, excellent battery life (12 hours), RGB LED lighting, app support with AAC codec, true wireless stereo (TWS) capability, USB-C charging. Measured bass extension of ~85Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Lacking quite a bit of bass. Sounds hollow and thuddy. Just not great overall. Discontinued; Tribit has retired it, superseded by the Stormbox Mini+.
