Short answer: the Mackie HR824mk2. It ranks #48 of 118 powered bookshelf speakers by sound quality, rated 4.4/5, at $1,699.98; the APS Klasik 2020 ranks #57, rated 4.3/5, and costs $1,800, so there is little reason to consider the other one.
Why pick the Mackie HR824mk2: The updated Mackie HR824 with an 8.75” woofer, a 1” titanium dome tweeter in a waveguide, a solid aluminium Zero Edge baffle and a rear 6” x 12” passive radiator, driven by 150W and 100W amplifiers. The catch: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from its measured predecessor, the Mackie HR824.
Why pick the APS Klasik 2020: A remarkably capable analogue nearfield monitor with 100W amplification per speaker, balanced XLR and RCA inputs, and three low-frequency adjustment options. The catch: Its all-analogue design means no streaming, Bluetooth, DSP or automatic room correction.
Buy the Mackie HR824mk2. It is rated higher for sound quality than the APS Klasik 2020 and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
Worth knowing: the Mackie HR824mk2 has not been measured yet. Its rating is estimated from related models, with a likely range of 4.0 to 4.8, so treat this verdict as provisional.

APS Klasik 2020: $1,800 per pair APS eBay
Pros: A remarkably capable analogue nearfield monitor with 100W amplification per speaker, balanced XLR and RCA inputs, and three low-frequency adjustment options. Independent review finds its response exceptionally even through the vocal range, with precise, tuneful bass, natural voices, pin-sharp imaging and unusually strong mix detail for the class.
Cons: Its all-analogue design means no streaming, Bluetooth, DSP or automatic room correction. The most extended bass setting loses some precision as volume rises, while the top end is competent rather than the system’s standout feature. It is built for a serious nearfield setup, not all-in-one convenience. It is hard to find for sale, with no dealers in the United States.
