ASR’s measurements give the Rokit 5 G4 a real edge in bass and directivity. It measures -3dB bass around 56Hz and posts preference scores of 3.06 standalone and 5.42 with an ideal subwoofer, with its waveguide tweeter pairing well with the small woofer for useful horizontal directivity control. Its native response is not reference-flat, though: a 3.6dB midrange span and a port-region resonance keep it from measuring as neutral as some rivals, and its deeper bass does not by itself make it more accurate for mixing.
The Eris E5 leans on connectivity and a fuller low end rather than measured neutrality. Our notes point to balanced XLR/TRS plus RCA inputs and placement adjustment that make it easy to connect to studio or consumer sources, along with a fuller low end than some small, bass-light monitors. That fuller bass is not necessarily neutral, and its placement adjustment does not substitute for a properly integrated subwoofer on deep-bass material.

Cons: The 3.6dB midrange span and listening-window narrow-band deviation of 0.502 show that native response is not reference-flat. A port-region resonance and other tonal irregularities remain. Its deeper bass does not establish greater detail or mixing accuracy than another monitor. EQ can help, but the unequalized measurements determine the starting recommendation. Discontinued.

Presonus Eris E5: $219.98 per pair Amazon eBay
