What the HSU Research CCB-8 does well: An easy to drive bookshelf speaker with an 8 inch coaxial driver, good midbass punch and wide dispersion. Watch for: Badly unbalanced top end that the reviewer called ‘just a terrible speaker’ outright: a roughly 7dB peak-dip swing in the upper mid/treble causes real listening fatigue regardless of listening angle (tried on-axis, 15 degrees off, and 30 degrees off, all bad).
Buy the Klipsch RP-600M II. It is rated higher for sound quality than the HSU Research CCB-8 and costs less, so it is the default pick unless a specific strength of the other one matters more to you.
