Its ported front-firing design and 325W RMS amplifier extend frequency response down to 17Hz at -3dB, compared to the R-121SW’s 28Hz low end.
The R-121SW earns its keep on value rather than raw output. Its 12-inch spun-copper driver and 200W RMS deliver what our notes call controlled, musical bass with minimal distortion, and its front-firing design gives more placement flexibility than the PB-1000 PRO’s front-ported cabinet. Our notes call it excellent value with exceptional bang for the money in its price tier.
The PB-1000 PRO adds app control via the SVS app, a feature the R-121SW does not have, along with dual high-grade ferrite magnets and an FEA-optimized motor design.
Weight and size favor the R-121SW slightly: it’s 35.1 lbs (15.9 kg) against the PB-1000 PRO’s 42.5 lbs (19.3 kg), and marginally smaller in every dimension.
Buy the SVS PB-1000 PRO if you want measurably deeper extension and higher output across the bass range and can justify the price difference.
Buy the Klipsch R-121SW if you want controlled, musical bass at a fraction of the cost and don’t need the deepest possible extension.
