The output difference is large and consistent across the entire bass range. Both are sealed enclosures, so this isn’t a design-philosophy difference: the SB-3000’s 13-inch driver and 800W RMS amplifier (2500W peak) simply move more air than the KC62’s dual 6.5-inch force-canceling drivers, even with the KEF’s 1000W amp.
The KC62’s appeal is entirely about size and extension, not output. It fits into a basketball-sized sealed cabinet at under 31 lbs (14.1 kg), with a frequency response rated down to 11Hz and five room-placement EQ presets, genuinely useful if the SB-3000’s roughly 15.5-inch cube and nearly 55 lbs (24.9 kg) won’t fit your space. The SB-3000 counters with its own room-correction tools: a three-band parametric EQ with 1Hz precision and an adjustable crossover from 30-200Hz with multiple slope options.
Everything else favors the SB-3000 on paper: more power, deeper CEA-2010 output at every tested frequency, and a lower price despite the larger cabinet.
Buy the SVS SB-3000 for meaningfully more output at a lower price, unless the KC62’s compact footprint is a hard requirement for your room.
Buy the KEF KC62 only if you specifically need its small basketball-sized cabinet and can accept substantially less output in exchange for that size.
