JBL Xtreme 3 vs Soundcore Motion Boom

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Short answer: the Motion Boom, and the numbers are almost embarrassing for the JBL. It ranks #14 of 76 large speakers at $109.99; the Xtreme 3 ranks #18 at $269.95, more than double the price for a lower placement.

Bass extension is identical on paper. Both reach 53 Hz at -10dB, and both hit similar max volume, 106dB against 105dB. The Xtreme 3’s own cons admit its bass isn’t as deep as better speakers in its class, which the price alone doesn’t fix.

The battery gap actually favors the cheaper speaker. The Motion Boom claims 24 hours against the Xtreme 3’s 15, on top of its lower price and higher ranking. JBL’s name and finish are the real product here, not a measured advantage.

Buy the Motion Boom for the better ranking, the longer battery, and the lower price. Buy the Xtreme 3 only if the JBL name or its lighter, more premium build matters enough to pay double.
