Different classes, so treat this as a step-up-or-not question rather than a head-to-head. The JBL Partybox Stage 320 ranks #3 of 51 party speakers by sound quality at $499.95; the Electro-Voice Everse 8 ranks #3 of 17 battery-powered PA speakers by sound quality at $799.
The JBL Partybox Stage 320 is the longer-running pick. An excellent sounding party speaker, with deep bass that holds up at high volume, wheels, a removable battery and mic inputs. It is rated for 18 hours of battery against 12 for the Electro-Voice Everse 8. The tradeoff: Slightly sibilant in the treble at full blast.
The case for the Electro-Voice Everse 8: A battery powered 8 inch PA speaker that plays very loud, with a built in mixer and a removable 12 hour battery. It supports aptX Bluetooth, which the JBL Partybox Stage 320 lacks. Watch for: Designed for more loudness than deeper bass.
