The Sharp PS-929’s replacement, the Sharp XParty Sing PS-931, is rated 2.5/5 at $160.
The JBL Partybox Club 120 is the better-sounding, tougher option. A party speaker on wheels with quite neutral sound, a removable battery, and mic and guitar inputs. It is rated IPX4, while the Sharp PS-929 has no water resistance. It links with other speakers (Auracast), which the Sharp PS-929 cannot. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Sharp PS-929 lacks. The tradeoff: High price, and JBL’s wired daisy chain only works with other JBL speakers.
The Sharp PS-929 is the lighter option. A battery party speaker with two woofers, a Super Bass button, lights, mic and guitar inputs, and a wired mic included. At 19 lbs (8.6 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the JBL Partybox Club 120 at 23.8 lbs (10.8 kg). Watch for: Bass extension is only about 60Hz at -10dB, so it lacks deep bass.
Buy the JBL Partybox Club 120. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Sharp PS-929 is discontinued, so it is only available used.
