JBL Partybox 710 vs JBL Partybox 300

Last updated: October 5, 2026

These are not really the same size class, and that is the honest framing here. The JBL Partybox 710 ranks #6 of 13 large party speakers by sound quality at $699; the JBL Partybox 300 ranks #10 of 44 party speakers by sound quality at $300.

JBL Partybox 710 vs JBL Partybox 300

The JBL Partybox 710 is the tougher option. Ipx4 protection and stereo playback make its feature set practical for its intended room or portable use. It is rated IPX4, while the JBL Partybox 300 has no water resistance. It links with other speakers (PartyBoost), which the JBL Partybox 300 cannot. It has an adjustable EQ, which the JBL Partybox 300 lacks. The tradeoff: Careful placement is still important for balanced bass.

The JBL Partybox 300 is the battery-powered, lighter choice. Exceptional sound quality with crisp, crystal clear highs and midranges, hard punchy bass without muddiness. Its battery is rated for 18 hours, while the JBL Partybox 710 needs an outlet. At 35.3 lbs (16 kg) it weighs much less than the JBL Partybox 710 at 61.7 lbs (28 kg). The catch: Hard to carry, too tall, drags on the ground.

One note: the JBL Partybox 300 is no longer sold new, but at #10 of 44 party speakers by sound quality it still outranks most current models, so used is worth considering.

Buy the JBL Partybox 710 ($699) for a large party speaker; the JBL Partybox 300 ($300) suits a party speaker instead.
