The Partybox 310 simply measures deeper. Our notes call it the deepest bass of any battery-powered speaker on this site and the most balanced sound in its class. The XL7’s own cons list recessed treble and boosted upper bass working against it directly.
Both have the same practical features. Wheels, a handle, and customizable lighting are standard on both. Neither wins on convenience; the gap is entirely in the tuning.
Being discontinued doesn’t mean it’s gone from the used market. JBL’s larger Partybox line turns over fairly often, so a 310 shows up secondhand or discounted regularly. See discontinued speakers still worth buying for what to check before buying one used.
Buy the Partybox 310 used or discounted if you can find one. Buy the LG XL7 only if buying new and discontinued models aren’t an option for you.
