Short answer: the JBL Partybox 130 for output. The Sony XP500’s 20W 3-way system with dual passive radiators is well balanced, with clear highs, detailed mids and punchy bass, but it is not as loud and its bass is not as deep as a Partybox 100 or 110. The 130 is convenient to move on its handle and wheels, though boomier and less clear than the Partybox 120 and priced high. The Sony SRS-XP500 is discontinued; its replacement is the Sony SRS-XV500.
Buy the JBL Partybox 130. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Sony SRS-XP500 is discontinued.
There is a real gap in water resistance: the JBL Partybox 130 at IPX4 (splashing) against the Sony SRS-XP500, which has no water resistance.
