Short answer: the JBL Partybox 130 for tuning and control, the Onn XL for raw power per dollar. The Partybox 130 ranks #7 of 43 party speakers at $449.95. The Onn XL ranks #11 at $249, $200.95 cheaper.
On paper, the Onn is the bigger speaker. It uses dual 8-inch woofers and 240W of output against the Partybox 130’s 2x 5.2-inch woofers and 200W. That size and power advantage matters because JBL’s own cons callout for the 130 admits it’s “boomier and less clear than the Partybox 120,” its smaller sibling, so JBL’s tuning isn’t beyond criticism either. The Onn’s own complaint is different: a little bright up top and “not quite as well balanced as the JBL Partybox 330.”
The 130 wins on control and connectivity. It has a 7-band EQ and JBL app support, a Bluetooth 6.0 radio, USB playback, and TWS pairing with a second JBL speaker, none of which appear in the Onn’s spec sheet. The Onn instead leans on hardware extras: it includes two wireless microphones in the box (the 130 has a mic input but no mics included), plus an onboard control display and 5 multicolor LED effects.
Everything else lands close: both have wheels and a handle, IPX4 splash resistance, an aux input, a guitar input, and karaoke-mode microphone processing with echo. Battery life is nearly identical at 15 to 16 hours. The 130 does add a removable battery, which the Onn lacks, but at 44 lbs the Onn is noticeably heavier to move around than the 130’s 24.9 lbs.
Buy the JBL Partybox 130 if you want app-based EQ control, USB playback, and JBL’s ecosystem, and you’re fine paying $200.95 more for it.
Buy the Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker if you want bigger drivers, more rated power, and two wireless microphones included, all for less money, and don’t need an app or onboard EQ.

Pros: A relatively manageable 11.3kg PartyBox with removable battery, foldable handle, light show, USB audio and modern JBL connectivity. Independent reviews describe it as unusually balanced and powerful for its format, while owner feedback praises clear voices and deep bass.
Cons: It is still bass-forward and less clear than the PartyBox 120 in direct comparisons. The smaller battery and stripped-back controls/features make it a questionable upgrade when the 120 is similarly priced. JBL’s wired daisy chain only works with other JBL speakers.

Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker: $249.00 Walmart eBay
Pros: A compelling all-in-one party and karaoke package: dual 8-inch woofers, 240W claimed output, two included wireless microphones, dual mic/guitar inputs, karaoke effects and USB-A phone charging. It plays loudly enough for backyard use and has punchy bass; owners especially like the wheels, telescoping handle and colorful light effects. At 44 lb it is still a substantial cabinet, but the trolley design makes moving it far easier than carrying it.
Cons: Sound favors punch and a forward/bright top end over refinement. Independent comparisons and owner reports find the bass less deep and the overall balance less satisfying than the JBL PartyBox 320; several consider the far-cheaper Onn Large Party gen 2 the better sound-per-dollar buy. Some owners report distortion or static at high volume, and a few report wireless-mic pairing/dropout problems. Large (30 inches tall, 44 lb) and only IPX4 splash-resistant, not a speaker to leave out in rain.
