JBL Partybox 1000 vs JBL Partybox 100

Last updated: October 5, 2026

These are not really the same size class, and that is the honest framing here. The JBL Partybox 1000 ranks #3 of 13 large party speakers by sound quality at $1,099.95; the JBL Partybox 100 ranks #8 of 44 party speakers by sound quality at $499.99.

JBL Partybox 1000 vs JBL Partybox 100

Why pick the JBL Partybox 1000: Sounds right up there with the JBL Partybox Ultimate that replaced it, and is the better value of the two. It has an adjustable EQ, which the JBL Partybox 100 lacks. The catch: Very large and heavy.

The JBL Partybox 100 is the battery-powered, lighter pick. Quite neutral sound, pretty deep bass. Its battery is rated for 12 hours, while the JBL Partybox 1000 needs an outlet. At 21.4 lbs (9.7 kg) it weighs much less than the JBL Partybox 1000 at 75 lbs (34 kg). The tradeoff: A slight peak in the upper mids.

One note: the JBL Partybox 100 is no longer sold new, but at #8 of 44 party speakers by sound quality it still outranks most current models, so used is worth considering.

Buy the JBL Partybox 1000 at $1,099.95 if you want a large party speaker. Buy the JBL Partybox 100 at $499.99 if you want a party speaker instead.
