Short answer: the JBL Partybox 310 for the deepest, most balanced sound in the class. It has the deepest bass of any battery powered speaker and the most balanced sound in the class, and its handle and wheels make transport easy, but it is very large. The Partybox 100 is the smaller, lighter, quite neutral alternative with pretty deep bass and only a slight upper-mid peak.

One note: the JBL Partybox 100 is no longer sold new, but at #8 of 39 party speakers by sound quality it still outranks most current models, so used is worth considering.

Buy the JBL Partybox 310. It ranks higher for sound quality than the JBL Partybox 100 and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.

If water resistance matters to you, the JBL Partybox 310 at IPX4 (splashing) holds up far better than the JBL Partybox 100 at no water resistance.

Pros: Quite neutral sound, pretty deep bass. Measured bass extension of 41Hz (-10dB).

Cons: A slight peak in the upper mids. Slight TWS issue where the 2nd is slightly delayed. Just as loud and slightly deeper bass than a Stormbox Blast which is way smaller with better sound quality. Discontinued.
