JBL Partybox 100 vs Onn Large Party gen 1

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Short answer: both are discontinued, so this only matters if you are buying used. Used, the JBL Partybox 100 is the better pick: it ranks #8 of 44 party speakers by sound quality (rated 4.4/5), against #33 (rated 2.7/5) for the Onn Large Party gen 1. If you want one new, the JBL Partybox Stage 320 ranks #3 at $499.95.

JBL Partybox 100 vs Onn Large Party gen 1

The JBL Partybox 100 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. Quite neutral sound, pretty deep bass. Its bass reaches about 41Hz before falling 10dB, against 60Hz for the Onn Large Party gen 1. Watch for: A slight peak in the upper mids.

The case for the Onn Large Party gen 1: A genuinely useful feature set for a compact party speaker: FM radio, 3.5mm aux, USB-A phone charging, a mic/guitar input, lights, and Party Sync pairing. It links with other speakers (Party Sync Mode), which the JBL Partybox 100 cannot. The catch: Sound is not a strong reason to seek one out.

Buy the JBL Partybox 100 only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the JBL Partybox Stage 320 instead.

Newer model: the JBL Partybox Club 120, ranked higher, rated 4.5/5.

Pros: Quite neutral sound, pretty deep bass. Measured bass extension of 41Hz (-10dB).

Onn Large Party gen 1: $100 Discontinued eBay

Onn Large Party gen 1 ranking card

Newer model: the Onn Large Party gen 2, ranked higher, rated 3.9/5.

Pros: A genuinely useful feature set for a compact party speaker: FM radio, 3.5mm aux, USB-A phone charging, a mic/guitar input, lights, and Party Sync pairing. Its rolling 10.5kg cabinet, carry handle and claimed 13-hour battery make it easy to take to casual outdoor gatherings, and it can play louder than a typical small Bluetooth speaker. Measured bass extension of ~60Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Sound is not a strong reason to seek one out. Reviewer comparisons find limited deep bass (about 60Hz at -10dB), uneven mids and a boxy, strained presentation at high volume. It has no app or EQ, no water rating, and is discontinued; the newer Onn Large Party gen 2 is the more sensible choice when available.
