Short answer: the JBL Boombox 4 for better sound quality, the Onn Medium Party Speaker Gen 2 for the lower price. The JBL Boombox 4 ranks #17 of 73 boombox speakers at $549.95. The Onn Medium Party Speaker Gen 2 ranks #43 at $90, $459.95 cheaper.
The case for the JBL Boombox 4: Pretty insane output capability for the size, with 7-band EQ for better tuning than the Boombox 3. Watch for: It’s overpriced for the category, sounds worse than the Boombox 3 out of the box, and drops Aux input entirely.
On the Onn Medium Party Speaker Gen 2 side: Under $100 with thunderous bass and LED lights synced to music. Simple controls, solid Bluetooth range. Set against that: Lacking detail compared to the “Onn Large Party Gen 2” and not as deep of bass.
Buy the JBL Boombox 4 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Onn Medium Party Speaker Gen 2 if the price matters more than sound quality.

JBL Boombox 4: $549.95 Amazon Bhphotovideo eBay
Pros: Pretty insane output capability for the size.
Cons: Pretty overpriced for the category. Better than the Boombox 3 mostly because there are more 7 EQ bands instead of just 3 and it can be better tuned. Try Oluv’s EQ for it. Out of the box sounds worse than the Boombox 3. No Aux input.
