Short answer: the JBL Boombox 4 for tuning and refinement, the Diamondboxx M3 for output claims. The JBL has pretty insane output for its size with a 7-band EQ, but it is overpriced, sounds worse than the Boombox 3 out of the box and drops the aux input. The M3 claims 114dB and 200W RMS (400W max) through a Class A/B amplifier, but its bass is not as deep as the hyperboom’s and distorts at high levels.
Buy the JBL Boombox 4. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Diamondboxx M3 is no longer sold new.
There is a real gap in water resistance: the JBL Boombox 4 at IP68 (extended submersion) against the Diamondboxx M3, which has no water resistance.

Older models: the JBL Boombox 3 (ranked lower, rated 3.8/5), the JBL Boombox 2 (ranked lower, rated 3.5/5) and the JBL Boombox (ranked lower, rated 2.9/5).
Pros: Pretty insane output capability for the size. IP68 protection and Auracast pairing with other current JBL speakers. Measured bass extension of 41Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Pretty overpriced for the category. Better than the Boombox 3 mostly because there are more 7 EQ bands instead of just 3 and it can be better tuned. Try Oluv’s EQ for it. Out of the box sounds worse than the Boombox 3. No Aux input.

Diamondboxx M3: $700 Discontinued eBay
Pros: An unusually compact 5kg high-output boombox, with a claimed 200W RMS Class A/B amplifier, 114dB maximum level, active crossovers and a choice of large battery packs. It has aux input, USB-C power and TWS pairing, while the aluminum heat sink is designed to sustain loud playback without thermal shutdown.
Cons: Despite its output, bass does not reach as deep as the best large portables and can distort when pushed hard. The treble-forward tuning can sound aggressive, there is no app or EQ to correct it, and the lack of a water rating makes it a poor match for poolside or rough-weather use. Discontinued.
