Sound quality favors the Go + Play 3. Our notes describe it as warm sounding with boosted bass, and it also gets app-based EQ through the Harman Kardon One app, something the Boombox 3 Wifi lacks entirely. The Boombox 3 Wifi’s own bass is also described as boosted, but its defining trait is being the loudest speaker in its class, hitting 111dB max volume against the Go + Play 3’s 103dB. The tradeoff is real: our notes call the Go + Play 3 just a little over half as loud as the higher-rated boomboxes in its class.
Battery life and durability are not close. The Boombox 3 Wifi runs 24 hours rated versus 8 hours for the Go + Play 3, a three-times gap. It also carries an IP67 rating for brief submersion, while the Go + Play 3 has no water resistance at all.
Everything else matches: both are stereo, both support TWS pairing, and both charge from AC power rather than USB.
Buy the Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 if sound quality and app EQ matter more to you than outright volume, battery life, or water resistance.
Buy the JBL Boombox 3 Wifi if you need all-day battery life, poolside durability, or the loudest possible output, and can live with less refined bass.
