Pros: Genelec’s most powerful subwoofer: three 15-inch (381mm) drivers driven by 2,500W of Class D amplification. Genelec rates it down to 15Hz at -6dB with 129dB short-term and 133dB peak output. Analog XLR main and LFE inputs, AES/EBU digital input, and GLM network control with room calibration.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its output can’t be compared with ranked subwoofers. It is 1.4m wide and weighs 145kg, sized for large studios and cinemas. Room calibration needs Genelec’s GLM kit or 9320A controller, sold separately.

SVS SB16-Ultra: $2,300 Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the SVS SB17-Ultra R-Evolution. It’s likely to perform similarly, though we don’t have measurements to confirm that yet.
Pros: Independent CEA-2010 testing records 103.1 dB at 20 Hz and 119.0 dB through 40-80 Hz. The sealed enclosure with 16” (406mm) driver delivers substantial upper-bass output for movie effects and music.
Cons: Deep-bass output is more limited than the strong 40-80 Hz result suggests, so it is not the right choice when the lowest movie effects are the priority. The 508.0H x 495.3W x 510.5D mm cabinet and 55.3 kg mass still require deliberate placement and calibration. Discontinued.
