Genelec 1032C: $5,750 per pair B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: A 10” woofer and 1” metal dome tweeter in a Directivity Control Waveguide, specified down to 33Hz at -6dB and 114dB short-term output, so it plays loud and deep without a subwoofer. GLM software measures your room and sets level, delay and EQ for each speaker automatically. 400W of amplification per speaker, with analog XLR and AES/EBU digital inputs.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared with ranked speakers. Its specified ±2.5dB window (40Hz to 20kHz) is looser than the ±1.5dB of Genelec’s 8300 series. At 17kg in a large MDF box it needs sturdy stands, GLM calibration needs the separately sold GLM kit, and there is no RCA input.

Pros: The vertical ASR measurement scores 7.75 with an ideal subwoofer and reaches 35.2Hz at -3dB. Coaxial midrange and treble help maintain consistent sound as the listening angle changes. Low measured distortion at ordinary listening levels and GLM calibration make it a strong precision-monitoring choice. Measured bass extension of 33Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Bass distortion increases at higher playback levels, so a subwoofer remains useful for demanding material. Upper-treble distortion in the test also cautions against assuming unlimited output. Calibration hardware adds to an already expensive system, and the quoted result is for the measured vertical orientation.
