Short answer: the Funk Audio Classic 18.0. It ranks #17 of 143 subwoofers by sound quality, rated 4.4/5, at $9,875; the Genelec W371A ranks #121, rated 3.9/5, and costs $10,795, which makes this an easy call rather than a real tradeoff.
The Funk Audio Classic 18.0 is the better-sounding choice. Independent CEA-2010 testing records 106.5 dB at 20 Hz and 127.3 dB through 40-80 Hz. The tradeoff: Deep-bass output is more limited than the strong 40-80 Hz result suggests, so it is not the right choice when the lowest movie effects are the priority.
What the Genelec W371A does well: A floor-standing woofer system that sits under the Genelec 8341A, Genelec 8351B or Genelec 8361A coaxial monitors to make a full-range speaker. Watch for: No independent measurements yet, so its output can’t be compared with ranked subwoofers.
Buy the Funk Audio Classic 18.0. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Genelec W371A and costs less, so it is the default pick unless a specific strength of the other one matters more to you.
About the ratings: the Genelec W371A’s rating is estimated from measured siblings and predecessors rather than its own measurements, with a likely range of 3.7 to 4.1, so this verdict could change once it is measured.

Funk Audio Classic 18.0: $9,875 Funk Audio eBay
Same family: the Funk Audio Classic 21.0L (larger subwoofer, ranked lower, rated 4.2/5).
Pros: Independent CEA-2010 testing records 106.5 dB at 20 Hz and 127.3 dB through 40-80 Hz. The sealed enclosure with 18” (457mm) driver delivers formidable upper-bass output for movie effects and music.
Cons: Deep-bass output is more limited than the strong 40-80 Hz result suggests, so it is not the right choice when the lowest movie effects are the priority. The 571.5H x 558.8W x 520.7D mm cabinet and 52.2 kg mass still require deliberate placement and calibration.
Notes: Data-bass labeled this sub as ‘FW18.0’, but original name is 18.0

Genelec W371A: $10,795 Estimated B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: A floor-standing woofer system that sits under the Genelec 8341A, Genelec 8351B or Genelec 8361A coaxial monitors to make a full-range speaker. Front 14-inch (356mm) and rear 12-inch (305mm) woofers, each with 400W of Class D amplification, reach down to 23Hz at -6dB with 120dB short-term output, and three selectable modes steer bass directivity to suit the room. Analog XLR and AES/EBU inputs with GLM calibration.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its output can’t be compared with ranked subwoofers. It only works with Genelec’s The Ones monitors and is meant to be used in pairs, one under each speaker. Room calibration needs Genelec’s GLM kit or 9320A controller, sold separately.
