The case for the Edifier S3000Pro: A large powered pair with digital and analog inputs and tone controls, a complete music system with no separate amplifier needed. The tradeoff: The substantial cabinet size requires more space than a typical desktop pair.
Why pick the Edifier M60: Small desktop speakers with even sound, USB, Bluetooth and included stands, easy to set up at a desk. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Edifier S3000Pro lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Edifier S3000Pro lacks. The catch: The on-axis response rises by about 0.57dB per octave, so the tonal balance becomes brighter toward the treble.
Buy the Edifier M60. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Edifier S3000Pro is discontinued, so it is only available used.
