Short answer: the Kali Audio LP-UNF for a compact nearfield monitor, the Edifier S2000MKIII for digital inputs. The LP-UNF’s 1-inch dome tweeter sits on a waveguide crossed unusually low at 1.9kHz to a 4.5-inch ported midwoofer, but F3 of 54Hz and F10 of 39Hz mean bass rolls off quickly below about 40Hz. The S2000MKIII counters with a high resolution digital input up to 192kHz/24bit.
Buy the Kali Audio LP-UNF. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Edifier S2000MKIII and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
