The S1000W’s case rests on convenience, not measured performance. Network playback over Wifi plus a mix of digital and analog inputs makes it a genuine all-in-one system, and it supports high-resolution digital input up to 192kHz/24bit. Our notes are direct that this input support does not itself improve acoustic accuracy, and the all-in-one format trades away the component flexibility of separate speakers and amplification.
The S2000MKIII measures deeper and scores higher, with a real caveat. Spinorama data puts its bass extension at 40.5Hz at -3dB, and it posts a 3.58 preference score standalone, rising to 5.34 with an ideal subwoofer. But our notes flag a 4.0dB midrange span and uneven predicted room response as real coloration, and warn that favorable modeled EQ results should not be mistaken for how the stock speaker actually sounds.
Everything else about them tracks closely: both use a 5.5” woofer, neither has an app or onboard EQ, and both offer RCA, optical, and coaxial digital inputs alongside Bluetooth.
