The Edifier MR5 is the deeper-bass choice. A three way desktop monitor pair with a dedicated midrange, LDAC Bluetooth, balanced inputs, app EQ and a headphone jack. Its bass reaches about 51Hz before falling 3dB, against 67Hz for the Edifier M60. The catch: Erin’s CTA-2034 data shows upper-midrange and treble irregularities, while off-axis response narrows more quickly than ideal above about 2-3kHz.
The case for the Edifier M60: Small desktop speakers with even sound, USB, Bluetooth and included stands, easy to set up at a desk. The catch: The on-axis response rises by about 0.57dB per octave, so the tonal balance becomes brighter toward the treble.
Buy the Edifier M60. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Edifier MR5 and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.
