The Three II’s complaints are direct: boosted treble and bass that doesn’t reach as deep as others. There isn’t a counterbalancing strength listed to offset them.
The D12 backs up its ranking with a real value case. Our notes call it a very good value speaker in this category, and it adds a subwoofer line out The Three II doesn’t offer.
Buy the D12. Between a speaker with no listed flaws and one with no listed strengths, at less than half the price, this isn’t a close decision.
