These are not really the same size class, and that is the honest framing here. The Denon Home 150 ranks #6 of 15 powered desktop speakers by sound quality at $249; the Sonos Move 2 ranks #28 of 117 large speakers by sound quality at $480.

What the Denon Home 150 does well: A compact smart speaker with built in Alexa, easy HEOS setup and stereo pairing with a second unit. It links with other speakers (HEOS multi-room, stereo pair with a second Home 150), which the Sonos Move 2 cannot. The catch: Tom’s Guide’s own complaints are that it costs more than the Sonos One and has no automatic room tuning to correct for placement.
The Sonos Move 2 is the battery-powered, tougher choice. A Wi-Fi and Bluetooth portable with warm, full sound, clear mids and a long battery for moving around the home. Its battery is rated for 24 hours, while the Denon Home 150 needs an outlet. It is rated IP56, while the Denon Home 150 has no water resistance. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Denon Home 150. The catch: Not very loud.
One note: the Denon Home 150 is no longer sold new, but at #6 of 15 powered desktop speakers by sound quality it still outranks most current models, so used is worth considering. The Denon Home 150’s replacement, the Denon Home 200, is rated 3.6/5 at $399.
Buy the Denon Home 150 ($249) for a powered desktop speaker; the Sonos Move 2 ($480) suits a large speaker instead.
