Short answer: the Marshall Tufton, if you are buying new, though neither ranks well in its class. The Bumpboxx Flare 6 ranks higher than it (#82 vs #88 of 112 boombox speakers, 2.6/5 vs 2.4/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Marshall Tufton is still sold new at $474.95. Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 112 boombox speakers; for better sound, the Tribit Stormbox Blast ranks #2 at $179.99.
The Bumpboxx Flare 6 is the tougher option. A retro styled stereo party speaker with water resistance and a 12 hour battery. It is rated IPX6 against IPX2 for the Marshall Tufton. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Marshall Tufton.
The Marshall Tufton is the longer-running choice. A classic Marshall styled boombox with a long battery, quick charging and sturdy construction that spreads sound all around. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 12 for the Bumpboxx Flare 6. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Bumpboxx Flare 6 lacks. The catch: Not much lower bass, upper bass boomy, boosted treble, not very balanced overall.
Buy the Marshall Tufton, since the Bumpboxx Flare 6 is discontinued and only worth hunting down used.
