The rank gap between them is smaller than it looks, and the Bose’s own review flags real problems. Its bass is overly boosted to the point of thudding and can overdrive and distort at higher volumes, worse in that regard than the first-generation Micro, and its treble is also overly boosted enough that the review recommends turning both down in the EQ. Pros: IP67 rated, survives a 1m dunk for 30 minutes. Compact fabric strap for clipping to bags/bikes: replaces the 1st-gen’s hook clip, which was prone to breaking. USB-C charging. Surprisingly good bass when mounted outdoors, like on a bike.
