B&O Beosound 2 vs Beosound Level

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Short answer: neither measures particularly well, so this comes down to which design you want on a shelf. The Beosound 2 costs $4,000 and ranks #4 of 5 in a tiny powered desktop class; the Beosound Level costs $2,250 and ranks #58 of 76 in the much larger portable large class.

The Beosound 2’s cons are direct: overly boosted bass, recessed mids, and overly expensive, with no pros listed to offset them.

The Beosound Level leans entirely on design and versatility. Premium Scandinavian styling, a modular build with an upgradeable wireless module, and the ability to run on battery, WiFi, or Bluetooth in multiple orientations. Our notes still call it not very deep in bass, with peaks in the midrange, and hugely expensive.

Neither is a strong recommendation on sound alone. Both are styling-and-brand purchases; check the powered or portable buyer’s guide for options with a real measured case at either price.
