Short answer: the Stormbox Micro, and it’s cheaper too. It ranks #5 of 47 small speakers at $40. The S1001bt costs $74, $34 more, and ranks #28 of 135 in the larger medium class, a weaker relative placement.
The S1001bt’s feature list is real: a power bank function, an EQ with an extra bass button, and 12-hour battery life. Our notes describe the resulting sound as somewhat bass boosted and warm, quite bassy off axis.
The Stormbox Micro is described as quite neutral, with a useful built-in strap, though our notes recommend spending the extra $10 for the Stormbox Micro 2 instead, which goes louder and deeper.
Buy the Stormbox Micro over the S1001bt at this price. Consider the Stormbox Micro 2 instead for another $10, per our own notes.

Tribit Stormbox Micro: $40 Amazon
Pros: Quite neutral. Slight hollowness in the mids. Built in strap is super useful for attaching it to things. Highly recommend spending the extra $10 for the Micro 2 which goes louder and deeper. To have it aimed directly at you unclip the strap and the speaker will sit upright with a slight lean back.
Cons: Gets murky and slightly sharp near max volume; boosted bass distorts when pushed loud. Down-firing passive radiator needs a flat surface underneath or the bass gets muffled.
