Genelec 7040A: $1,125 B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: A compact 6.5-inch (165mm) subwoofer with a 50W Class D amplifier, sized for small studios and desktop systems with Genelec’s smaller monitors. Genelec rates it at 33-85Hz within 3dB (30Hz at -6dB) and 100dB short-term maximum output. Stereo balanced XLR inputs and outputs with built-in bass management.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its output can’t be compared with ranked subwoofers. Its 100dB output and 85Hz upper limit suit small rooms only, and there is no GLM calibration, AES/EBU input or RCA input.
