Pros: A three-way coaxial studio monitor that hides two 215 x 100mm racetrack woofers behind the front baffle, with a 120mm midrange and 3/4” tweeter in a coaxial waveguide. Princeton’s measurements show exceptionally consistent directivity (0.67 sound power DI deviation), and Genelec rates it 38Hz to 20kHz within ±1.5dB. GLM room calibration, analog XLR and AES/EBU digital inputs are built in.
Cons: Princeton’s data does not cover bass, so it has no preference score; the rating is estimated from it and the measured 8351B that replaced it. It weighs 19kg each, and room calibration needs Genelec’s GLM kit. Discontinued.
