#111 ION Retro Glow Boombox: $129.00 Walmart $129.00 eBay
Pros: A retro cassette boombox with a tape player and recorder, AM/FM radio, VU meters and light rings around the drivers. It records from radio, Bluetooth, aux or its built in microphone to tape, USB or microSD, has a headphone output and bass and treble knobs, and runs on its internal battery, six D cells or AC power.
Cons: Its bass is nowhere near as deep as top ranked boomboxes like the Tribit Stormbox Blast and Harman Kardon Go + Play 3, which reach down to about 43 Hz and 35 Hz. Reviewers note the small front tweeters are cosmetic, so all sound comes from two 5 inch full range drivers rated 80Hz to 10kHz and 28W peak. Boog and Dad TV found it loud enough for a gazebo but without deep bass, flhousemusic found its recordings compressed, BudgetBassHead heard tape hiss, and it has no water resistance, app or stereo linking.
