#37 NHT SuperZero 2.1: $134.99 each NHT Audio eBay
Pros: A tiny, affordable acoustic-suspension speaker that is easy to place near a wall. ASR measured a 5.50 preference score with a subwoofer, broad horizontal coverage to roughly +/-60 degrees and good 0.111 sound-power smoothness.
Cons: This is intentionally a satellite: estimated in-room extension is only 84Hz and the standalone preference score falls to 2.19. Sensitivity and maximum output are limited, while on-axis smoothness of 0.220 and directivity-index consistency of 3.43 are merely average.
How it compares: Just above it: JBL Studio 530 - $264 more, 1Hz lower bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: ELAC Debut 2.0 B5.2 - $194 more, 3Hz lower bass extension (-3dB).
