#33 Monitor Audio Silver Centre 8G: $1,200.00 each Estimated Audio Advice eBay
Older model: the Monitor Audio Silver C250 7G (ranked higher, estimated 4.1/5).
Same family: the Monitor Audio Silver 50 8G (smaller bookshelf, estimated 4.2/5), the Monitor Audio Silver 100 8G (larger bookshelf, estimated 4.1/5), the Monitor Audio Silver 300 8G (smaller floorstanding, estimated 4.2/5) and the Monitor Audio Silver 500 8G (larger floorstanding, estimated 4.2/5).
Pros: A sealed 3-way center for the Silver 8G range, with the 3” C-CAM midrange placed directly below the 25mm Gold Dome tweeter between two 6” bass drivers. That vertical midrange and tweeter layout keeps dialogue consistent across a wide sofa, and the sealed box works close to a wall or inside furniture. Sensitivity is 89dB.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from the measured Silver 50 7G and the 8G range. Bass is rated only to 66Hz (-6dB), so it relies on a subwoofer, and the impedance falls to 4.0 ohms at 160Hz.
