#109 KEF R300 Discontinued Estimated eBay
Newer model: the KEF R3 Meta, ranked higher, rated 4.6/5, released Mar 2023. See every KEF R Series generation.
Pros: A three way stand mount with a coaxial Uni-Q midrange and tweeter above a 6.5 inch bass driver, giving stable imaging across a wide seating area. Sound & Vision measured a listening window within +1.0/-3.1dB from 200Hz to 10kHz and bass to 54Hz at -3dB (42Hz at -6dB), deep for a bookshelf speaker, and 90dB measured sensitivity is easy to drive. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-3dB), with a measured sensitivity of 88dB.
Cons: Discontinued and replaced by the KEF R3, which measures better, so it is only available used. Impedance dips to about 4.25 ohms in measurement (KEF quotes 3.2 ohms minimum), which taxes weaker amplifiers, and the listening window is less flat than its successor with a dip of about 3dB.
