#38 JBL Arena 120: $199.95 per pair Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the JBL Stage 250B, ranked lower, rated 3.2/5.
Pros: A budget sealed two-way with a 5.5” polycellulose woofer and 1” soft dome tweeter. The only Spinorama data shows a listening window within 1.1dB from 300Hz to 5kHz and a smooth predicted in-room response (0.77), for a preference score of 5.22 that reaches 8.02 with an ideal subwoofer. Measured bass extension of 98.8Hz (-3dB).
Cons: That data is low quality, digitized from a third-party chart, so treat the score with caution. Bass rolls off at 98.8Hz (-3dB) and sensitivity is 86dB. JBL’s current model in this slot is the Stage 250B. Discontinued.
How it compares: Just above it: Wharfedale EVO 4.1 - $600 more, 1Hz higher bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: KEF Q150 - $150 more, 1Hz lower bass extension (-3dB).
