#20 L-Acoustics 5XT Passive eBay
Pros: A 3.5kg cube with 110° conical coverage and a 121dB peak, more output than most speakers this size, with a very smooth on-axis response (0.71dB average deviation) in vendor measurements. Measured bass extension of 115Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Preference scores of 0.91 standalone and 4.63 with an ideal subwoofer trail better compact models, because bass stops near 115Hz (-3dB) and the listening window drifts across a 3.2dB band. It is passive, needs L-Acoustics presets, and is sold through dealers with no published price.
How it compares: Just above it: Fulcrum Acoustic RX5. Just below it: Alcons Audio SR9.
