#1091 R2E3 Mermaid: $66.00 Discontinued eBay
Pros: A single beryllium plated dynamic driver earphone whose presence is about 1.4 dB above target, so vocals come through clearly, and the midrange stays close to target. 106 dB sensitivity runs from a phone.
Cons: Sub bass sits about 6.4 dB below target, so the low end is thin, and an 8.6 dB dip near 6.3 kHz followed by a 5 dB peak near 8.2 kHz makes the treble uneven. Deviation is high at 3.1 dB, and it is discontinued.

Frequency Response
How the R2E3 Mermaid measures across the audible range, against the Harman in-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is the median of 3 independent measurements, so one odd sample or rig cannot skew it, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
Measurement data: median of 3 measurements from the squig.link databases of eplv, fahryst and timmyv. Thanks to each of them for publishing their work.
