#35 OneOdio Monitor 80: $94.52 Amazon $94.52 eBay

Pros: An open-back wired headphone at about $95 with a preference score of 89. Bass through presence stays within 2 dB of target, so mids and voices sound natural, and the open design sounds spacious.

Cons: Sub bass falls 6 dB below target at 36 Hz, and a 7 dB peak near 7.7 kHz after a 5.8 dB dip near 5 kHz makes the treble uneven. At 250 ohms it needs a headphone amp, and the Superlux HD 668B rates the same for less. See headphone amps and DACs with enough power to drive it.

Is the OneOdio Monitor 80 right for you?

Buy it if

  • you want the tuning most listeners prefer in blind tests out of the box (Harman score 89).

Skip it if

  • you will plug straight into a phone or laptop: at 250 ohms it needs a headphone amp.
  • you want more bass (about 3 dB below target).
  • you need isolation or will use it in public: open-back headphones leak sound both ways.

Frequency Response

How the OneOdio Monitor 80 measures across the audible range, against the Harman over-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is a single measurement, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
