Short answer: the Zealot ZE51. It ranks #16 of 91 boombox speakers by sound quality (rated 4.1/5) at $296.39 and is still sold new; the JBL Boombox ranks #62 (rated 2.9/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.
The Zealot ZE51 is the better-sounding choice. Cleaner sound and a wider stereo soundstage than the Zealot ZE41, with less distortion at high volume for better instrumental detail and clarity. It has a microphone input for karaoke or announcements, which the JBL Boombox lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the JBL Boombox lacks. Watch for: The Zealot ZE41 still wins on raw bass depth and price.
The JBL Boombox is the longer-running, lighter option. Claimed 24 hours (manufacturer specified) battery life, ipx5 protection and stereo playback make its feature set practical for its intended room or portable use. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 4 for the Zealot ZE51. At 11.5 lbs (5.2 kg) it weighs much less than the Zealot ZE51 at 26 lbs (11.81 kg). The tradeoff: Treble is not very smooth.
Buy the Zealot ZE51. It is rated higher for sound quality; the JBL Boombox is no longer sold new.

Pros: Cleaner sound and a wider stereo soundstage than the Zealot ZE41, with less distortion at high volume for better instrumental detail and clarity.
Cons: The Zealot ZE41 still wins on raw bass depth and price. Large and heavy like the rest of the boombox class, and clarity still isn’t up to dedicated hi-fi speakers.
