Short answer: the AsciLab C6B. It ranks #6 of 222 bookshelf speakers by sound quality, rated 4.7/5, at $1,145; the Wharfedale Super Linton ranks #25, rated 4.4/5, and costs $2,699, so there is little reason to consider the other one.
Why pick the Wharfedale Super Linton: A retro styled three way bookshelf speaker with punchy dynamics, a matched pair, and custom stands included in the box. The catch: Rolls off earlier than the original Linton (F3 77Hz versus the original’s 52Hz), a deliberate trade-off for the closer-wall-placement flexibility.
The AsciLab C6B is the deeper-bass pick. Bookshelf speakers with very accurate sound and an unusually wide, stable soundstage, for any seating position. Its bass reaches about 54Hz before falling 3dB, against 77Hz for the Wharfedale Super Linton. Watch for: Bass rolls off around 50Hz in-room (F3 54Hz, F10 35Hz), so a subwoofer is needed for real extension below that.
Buy the AsciLab C6B. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Wharfedale Super Linton and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
