The W-King D20 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. A loud stereo party speaker with two wireless microphones, a 24 hour battery and water resistance. Its bass reaches about 42Hz before falling 10dB, against 58Hz for the ION Pathfinder 280. At 14.3 lbs (6.5 kg) it weighs much less than the ION Pathfinder 280 at 23.8 lbs (10.8 kg). It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the ION Pathfinder 280. The tradeoff: Rising frequency response but upper treble rolled off, 700Hz and 1.2kHz peaks.

The catch: Out of the box, the midrange and treble are uneven enough to sound alternately honky and dull, and the bass does not extend as deeply as better party speakers.
Buy the W-King D20. It is rated higher for sound quality than the ION Pathfinder 280 and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.
