Boom 4 floats, has IP67 protection, USB-C, app EQ, and a 15-hour battery. It does little to advance sound beyond previous Boom models, with shallow bass and distortion near full volume.
Megaboom 4 adds a 20-hour battery and PartyUp capability in a larger enclosure. Its treble is rolled off and high-volume distortion remains a real limitation.
Buy the Ultimate Ears Boom 4 if you want the smaller floating UE speaker and its app features.
Buy the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 4 if longer battery life and PartyUp are worth the larger size.
