The Xsound Plus 2 points its drivers at you. Two front-facing 45mm drivers play in stereo, it reaches 55Hz before falling 10dB, and it keeps an aux input and AAC. Its factory EQs boost both bass and treble and XBass mode distorts, so a custom EQ gives the best sound.
The Stormbox 2 is smaller, with side-firing drivers. At 1.3 lbs (593 g) it weighs about 0.4 lbs (200 g) less, and it is a little better than the original Stormbox. Because its drivers face front and back rather than toward you, treble sounds rolled off when you sit in front of it. Keep XBass on for its best balance. Both claim 24 hours of battery and are rated IPX7.
Buy the Tribit Xsound Plus 2. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Tribit Stormbox 2 and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
